Acer Iconia Tab Review

Tablet computers have taken the tech industry by storm. The Acer Iconia Tab is a tablet PC that is made by Android. Here is my review of the Acer Iconia Tab that will outline the product’s specifications, pros and cons.

The Acer Iconia Tab has the following specifications: 10. 1 inch multi touch screen, 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 250 dual-core processor, Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, 1GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GPU, Flash 10.1, five megapixel camera, 16GB internal storage mini USB port, Wi-Fi connectivity, micro-SD card slot, 1080p video output, 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, two megapixel camera in the front, Google Maps, YouTube, Acer User Interface 4.5, and Dolby Sound.

Pros and Cons

I like how the tablet’s touch screen can rotate 80 degrees. I like to be able to show people things on my tablet and being able to swivel the screen is great, especially when hooking up the tablet to my desktop computer.

I like the overall design of the tablet. It has a very professional and sleek design which is very beneficial to me. I like the layout of the screen and it took me less than thirty minutes to be able to acquaint myself with the tablet’s operating system.

One of the first negative aspects that I encountered with this tablet PC is the fact that it is heavier than other tablet PC’s that are on the market. I did not like how bulky it is because I have to carry textbooks, clothing, and other items in my backpack so it weighs it down too much which hurts my back.

The battery that the tablet has died within the first day of its initial charging, which was a major issue for me. This is a downside to people who want to use their tablet often because it needs to be charged after six to seven hours of use during the day.

Another negative issue is that the software is very basic and sometimes the operating system locks up for me. I use my computer often because I attend college classes so it can be very frustrating to have to restart the tablet to troubleshoot the problem.

The two cameras take decent pictures which is great for moms on the go like me. I really benefited from having the two cameras and the video recording capability because I love to capture videos and pictures of my children. The tablet is a good product for consumers. I would recommend it to people who want to have a basic tablet with a good operating system when they are away from their home computer.
